Rubitean was purchased straight from his breeder, after a contract with the stallion's previous rider ended. Rudy was a promising 6-year-old stallion when he came to Rosslare, having good results in young horse classes. Rudy comes from a lineage of showjumping and eventing Thoroughbreds, and his sire, Rubitean Scheme, has amassed great reputation to his name and put the sireline on the map, so to say. The sireline is greatly used in continental Europe in Warmblood breeding, and has had great success amongst its offspring.

Rudy's dam, Floratown, is a feisty little mare with top results in 140cm classes. She is very fast on the jumping course, but is a bit jumpy to handle outside the ring. Rudy seems to not have inherited his dam's jittery characteristics too much, although he is a stallion and a Thoroughbred, which makes him fundamentally a bit hot blooded.

Rudy is hot blooded with high energy levels. In showjumping, he's very quick and agile, but easily distracted or disturbed by surroundings. Needs a calm and collected rider.
